Noiya Jam 2012 – Warm Up Session featuring Nick Lomax, Alex Burston, Ross Jones & Scott Hallows

I filmed, directed, edited and created the motion graphics for this online edit to promote the Noiya Jam 2012, a Rollerblading competition held at the House Skatepark in Neepsend, Sheffield. I arranged a lock in at The House in the week leading up to the event and invited some of the North’s best Rollerbladers along for the session, Including international professionals Nick Lomax and Alex Burston, along with Noiya Clothing riders Ross Jones & Scott Hallows. The House is notoriously difficult for filming due to a number of different types of lighting systems in the roof, and also the comparitively narrow width of the street course. The only way to go to capture what we needed in 2 hours was to use two cameras, one providing a fisheye shot and the other a long shot.

Vex One website

I was asked to create a website for Sheffield Rapper and Producer Vex One including some key site features. Based on the functionality that the client required, such as an automatically updated list of tour dates and the ability to narrow down posts to specific categories in certain pages, I decided a custom 3 column wordpress site would be the way to go. After building the site template and checking all functionality it was time to go to work on the design. By getting a list of keywords for the aesthetic the client was after like space, light flares, dark, clean and futuristic I styled the site and tweaked the final coding to produce this new wordpress theme.

Produced in under 24 hours as part of a secondary interview process for a design position at WanDisco, a United States based software company involved in the production of Subversion, a software versioning and revision control system. I was asked to create a satellite site that would drive traffic to and promote the WANdisco version of Subversion whilst still seeming like an impartial website. Imagine this – you’re in-session at one of the most incredible carp lakes in the world, you nip down for a quick shower during the middle of the week and when you come back to your swim, your fishing partner has landed a 82lb 10oz common on your rods! Tom isn’t claiming this fish for that exact reason (gutted for him) but the footage of one of the biggest commons in the world had to be seen!
